Giulia D Arrigo

PhD supervisor: Prof. Giuseppe Legname, Laboratory of Prion Biology

Summary of carrier/studies:

I am a PhD student in the neuroscience area. During my master internship in neurobiology, I worked on a project which aimed to demonstrate the transfer of cargo from inflammatory extracellular vesicles (EVs) to neurons (Prada et al., Acta Neuropathol, 2018). I also participated in a project about characterization of human monocyte-derived microvesicles (Amoruso et al., J Neuroimmunol, 2018) and investigation of the ability of synthetic neuromelanins to activate microglia (Ferrari et al., ACS Chem Neurosci, 2017). I am currently studying the mechanisms of EV-neuron interaction exploiting optical manipulation.
