Gabriele Liuzzi

PhD supervisor: Prof. Antonello Mallamaci, Laboratory of Cerebral Cortex Development

Summary of career/studies:

I got my Master of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Turin.
As the course of my thesis internship went by, I’ve been developing a strong interest toward the cell-specific regulation of gene expression during the early development of the nervous system.
With the aim of deepening this specialized branch of biology, I applied to the SISSA at the Laboratory of Cerebral Cortex Development conducted by Professor Antonello Mallamaci.
My current work relies on an RNA-based approach, which is thought to be aimed at improving the treatment of a Genetic form of Epilepsy.
